German-born Allen Hansen has been
a fixture in the Portland
music scene for over 20 years, playing in a variety of original bands
and cover acts. Most recently with the bands The Rust and Wolfgang
and the KISS tribute band Shout It Out Loud (he played
Gene Simmons), Allen stays involved in the local scene in a variety of ways.
It's the love of the music and the energy from the crowd that keeps Allen
going, and according to him "I can't imagine a time I wouldn't be
playing music".
With a bottom punch that leaves you
dizzy to a gravely vocal
style that's reminicent of old Bon Scott, Allen nails the songs and
leaves a few cracks in the plaster. Now if only a few clubs would
let him breathe some fire during the show...

The new kid on the block, Charlie comes to the BUZZ from the successful
bands The Rust (with whom he still gigs with occasionally)
and the Billionaire
Bachelors. Charlie has been pounding the skins as long
as he's been alive,
and has a great voice to compliment the band, both in
a backup capacity and
as a lead vocalist in his own right.
No one lives and breathes music like Charlie does. If he's not playing
with
Second Hand Buzz or The Rust, you can find him around town at any number
of jam nights in many different clubs. He walks the walk and talks the talk,
and there aren't many that can approach his talent and abilities.

Hailing originally from Michigan, Ron was involved in the Detroit
music scene for many years. He migrated to the Pacific Northwest in
1995, playing the I-5 corridor with the band Dancer. Dancer evolved
into the 60’s Explosion.
Totally consumed by the music, Ron pours every ounce of himself
into each song. Live and in the studio, an undeniable sense of
energy and confidence surrounds him.
Dedicated to the melody and a slave to the hook, Ron continues
to contribute to the band’s music by giving his all. In his own words
“I just totally love music. Just to be able to play is reward enough
for me.”

Straight from the beaches of Maui (somewhat reluctantly of course...),
Larry Smith comes back into the Portland music scene and we're lucky
to have him. He's pretty much the selling point of the band, with a voice
that
is undeniably unmatched in the Portland scene. A veteran vocalist of
such bands
as Wolfgang, Forces, Pirate and others, Larry has a voice that
does more than
justice to such greats as Robert Plant, Klaus Meine, Geoff Tate, and Sammy
Hagar to mention just a few.
Also a mean guitarist with a fondness for the Les Paul, Larry enjoys
the interaction with the crowd and the energy that Rock and Roll
done right brings. "It's the next best thing to being on the beach
catching waves" says Larry, and who can disagree with that?
